What this tool does
A dynamic QR code encodes a short link we host instead of your final destination directly. When scanned, that short link redirects to whatever URL you've configured - and because the redirect step lives on our server, you can change the destination at any time without reprinting anything, and every scan gets logged so you can see real usage data.
Who this is for
Use a dynamic QR code for anything you might need to update later or want to measure: a marketing campaign across multiple print placements, packaging with a long shelf life, a seasonal landing page, or any material where you genuinely want to know whether people are scanning it at all. For our full breakdown of when to choose dynamic over static, see our static vs dynamic QR codes guide.
How to use it
- Enter a name for your own reference (only visible to you) and the destination URL.
- Submit the form to generate your code - you'll land on a management page showing the QR code, download buttons, and scan analytics.
- Save the management page's URL somewhere secure - it's the only way to return and make changes.
- Update the destination or check scan counts anytime by revisiting that link.
Best practices
- Bookmark or otherwise store your management link immediately after creating a code - it cannot be recovered if lost, since no account or email is attached to it.
- Use a descriptive reference name if you're managing several dynamic codes, so you can tell them apart later.
- Test the destination link yourself before distributing the printed code, and periodically re-check it still points somewhere valid.
Privacy and security
Scan logging captures only a timestamp, rough device type, browser, and referrer - never anything personally identifying. When someone scans your code, they'll briefly see a confirmation page showing exactly where they're being sent before continuing, a deliberate safeguard against QR codes being used as untraceable phishing redirectors.
